UJI EFEKTIVITAS ANTIOBESITAS EKSTRAK ETANOL DAUN BIDARA (Ziziphus mauritiana L.) TERHADAP MENCIT JANTAN (Mus musculus)

Abstract


Obesity is a global health problem characterized by excess body fat, increasing the risk of serious diseases such as heart disease, diabetes mellitus, and stroke. The use of orlistat has limitations due to its high price, so a safe natural alternative is needed. This study aims to determine the effect of bidara leaf extract (Ziziphus mauritiana L.) in reducing obesity in male mice (Mus musculus) and to determine the most effective concentration in reducing obesity in male mice (Mus musculus). This study was conducted in a laboratory experiment, with bidara leaf extract at concentrations of 100 mg/kg, 200 mg/kg, and 300 mg/kg. The parameter measured was body weight. Data were analyzed using the one-way ANOVA test. The results of data analysis using the ANOVA method showed that there was no statistically significant difference between the treatment groups. However, measurements of the mice's body weight showed a reduction in body weight showed a trend of weight reduction, although the difference was not statistically significant (p > 0.05).
